چکیده
Background: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global threat to public health. There dire need for new antibiotics as AMR threatens our last-resort efficacy.1,2 Myrtle plants have been used in folk medicine centuries. Essential oils from these demonstrated therapeutics effects. This study aims examine the antibacterial activity of essential extracted Myrtus communis L and Melaleuca leucadendron against clinically relevant bacterial pathogens.3Methods: Bacterial growth curves bactericidal assays were performed on antibiotic-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (SA) antibiotic low high resistant Methicillin-resistant (MRSA) strains; sensitive Klebsiella pneumoniae strains (KPS KPR). Minimum concentration (MBC) was 4 colistin E. coli strains. Results: dose-dependent all tested inhibited even after 24 hours. The dilutions ranged 6.15 μl/ml up 50 both SA, MRSA (Figure 1), Klebsiella. Further, incubation colistin-resistant with oil one hour viability bacteria by spotting agar plates further overnight. data suggest that can effectively kill pathogens. Conclusion: L. var. cajaputi possess potent potential utilizing topical treatment wound infections.

Screening of Antibacterial Activity of Six Plant Essential Oils Against Pathogenic Bacterial Strains
In the present investigation antimicrobial activity of six different plant essential oils i.e., citrus (Citrus lemon), olive (Olea europaea), ajwain (Trachiyspirum ammi), almond (Amygdalus communis), Bavchi (Psoralea corylifolia) and neem (Azadirachta indica) oils have been evaluated. After bioassays, most of the essential oils were found susceptible to both Gram-positive bacteria such as Lacto...

Two different extraction methods were used for a comparative study of algerian myrtle leaf essential oils: solvent-free-microwave-extraction (SFME) and conventional hydrodistillation (HD). Essential oils analyzed by GC and GC-MS presented 51 components constituting 97.71 and 97.39% of the total oils, respectively. Solvent-Free-Microwave-Extract Essential oils SFME-EO were richer in oxygenated c...
متن کاملIsolation and antibacterial activity of acylphloroglucinols from Myrtus communis.
Isolation procedures of two new acylphloroglucinols, myrtucommulone-A and myrtucommulone-B, from Myrtus communis leaves are given. Myrtucommulone-A was highly antibacterial against gram-positive bacteria but was not active against gram negatives. The chemical relation to other acylphloroglucinols and the antibacterial activity of the compounds isolated are discussed.

Essential oils were extracted from the fruits of Coriandrum sativum L. and Foeniculum vulgare Miller var. vulgare (Miller) and assayed in vitro for antibacterial activity to Escherichia coli and Bacillus megaterium, bacteria routinely used for comparison in the antimicrobial assays, and 27 phytopathogenic bacterial species and two mycopathogenic ones responsible for cultivated mushroom diseases...
متن کاملEvaluation of antibacterial effect of Myrtus communis against Acinetobacter baumannii clinical strains
Because of inappropriate use of antibiotics and prevalence of resistant bacteria, there is urgentneed for antibacterial drugs that have fewer side effects than antibiotics. Myrtus communis is amedicinal plant which had many uses in traditional medicine. In this study, ethanol leave extractof this plant is tested on Acinetobacter baumannii. In the case of antimicrobial evaluation ofplants, one o...
